Nails are considered one of the epitomes of being girly and feminine. Rarely are nails associated with sports and anything athletic. If you are in any type of athletic realm, nails are the first thing "banned". Safety is a concern when it comes to the length, but nails altogether shouldn't be excluded just because you play a sport. You still have nail beds. They should still be pretty.
